Summary:
To accurately and effectively provide administrative and clerical support to Human Resources manager.
Your Role:
Assist department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees
Manage and respond to a high level of daily information and communications received via email, fax and telephone
Assist Safety department and payroll when necessary
Assist in the recruitment effort for personnel, interns, and temporary employees
Place advertisements
Screen applicants and provide hiring supervisor with qualified applicants
Oversee background checks and employment verifications
Conduct New Employee Orientation
Participate in benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees
Coordinate open enrollment communication and employee documents
Administer leave of absence programs and serve as the main point of contact for the 3rd party administrator
Serve as COBRA administrator
Coordinate and create performance evaluation program, schedule, communicate reports, evaluate, and revise as necessary
Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compile reports from database as needed
Maintain the HR SharePoint with most current content, forms, and documents
Compile and prepare data for annual Affirmative Action reporting
Compile and prepares 401(k) Non-Discrimination data for
Complete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits, employee changes (hire, termination, change), and leave of absence
Coordinate all drug testing per company policy
Respond to Unemployment requests by completing required information by deadlines
Review and reconcile insurance, drug testing and other program invoices for payment
Maintain employee files according to regulations, including filing, and I-9s
Regularly review and maintain up-to-date federal, state, and local posting in employee areas
Background Profile:
HS Diploma required - college degree preferred
3-5 years of experience in Human Resources required
Prefer 1-2 years of experience administering employee benefit plans in the health and welfare areas
Experience in dealing with confidential information required
Basic knowledge of ADA, EEOC, OFCCP, FMLA and other employment rights regulations
Intermediate level of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Previous experience using HRIS software required
Basic knowledge of employment rules and guidelines, benefits, payroll and recruitment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to be flexible and respond quickly to organizational needs/changes
Ability to solve problems systematically and quickly with good reasoning abilities
Ability to work under pressure in high pace environment
Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills through a consistent courteous and professional demeanor; Ability to get along with diverse personalities and a tactful, resourceful manner Positive time management, and ability to prioritize and manage several projects/tasks simultaneously
